About Us

Sycamore Spirituality Center, Inc.

The following Gospel reading is the inspiration for our name, Sycamore Spirituality Center:

Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through it. A man was there named Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was rich. He was trying to see who Jesus was, but on account of the crowd he could not, because he was short in stature. So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore tree to see him, because he was going to pass that way. When Jesus came to the place, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down; for I must stay at your house today.” So he hurried down and was happy to welcome him.

Sycamore trees are abundant in Kentucky. In the winter months the peeling white bark of the sycamores can be seen clearly along creek banks in this region.

Like the sycamore in the Gospel story, Sycamore Spirituality Center seeks to offer a clear line of vision for those seeking the Sacred. Although rooted in the Christian tradition, Sycamore Spirituality Center is an inclusive interfaith / interspiritual group, welcoming people from all different faith traditions and spiritual backgrounds – including none – to experience a transformative journey of contemplation, community formation, belonging, and spiritual discovery.

We are interested in discovering how you name the Sacred in your life and exploring with you how the face of the Sacred comes to dwell in your home.
